Location: Loosdrecht is half an hour drive from Amsterdam, Utrecht and Schiphol airport. The wooden chalet lies in a private estate of summer houses, each with their own private mooring on an inlet of the lake. loosdrecht is a small sailing village, surrounded by fields and beautiful classic Dutch farms, near the Vecht - a beautifully classic river with castles and chateaux, lovely to cycle/walk along.

Accommodation: The chalet is 35m2 and sleeps a family of 4. There are 2 bedrooms (one double with twin beds, the other with 2 bunk beds for children/2 cot beds can be provided); one large living/dining room with vaulted ceiling and open kitchen. Brand new bathroom with teak rainshower and toilet. Double doors open from lounge onto shaded terrace; further door off the kitchen opening onto lawn. The chalet is double glazed and perfectly insulated and only 5 years old. Very clean and welcoming.
Shed adjoining chalet with washing/drying machine and storage space for bicycles, life jackets etc. The garden is south facing, and has the sun until late evening. There is a small lawn and patio with chairs and table ideal for entertaining guests. There is also a veranda around the side of the house that offers shade and cool with an armchair underneath to sit and snooze! In the garden, there are an array of lovely flowers including lavender, poppies, fresh herbs and newly planted trees.

Facilities: The cabin has full air conditioning that also provides heating for cooler nights; hot water, electric oven, toaster, coffee machine, kettle, fridge, freezer, cable tv, internet, bedlinen and duvets, all kitchen equipment. Outside, there is a barbecue, large shade umbrella, 2 sunloungers. Free parking right by the door. The whole area is child-friendly with strong bamboo fences on the waterside and lane adding privacy.
Exclusive use of brand new rubber dinghy with engine for exploring the lake. Perfect for long summer days on the water. (you can hire lifevests in the village). You are welcome to bring your own canoes/small boats which can also be moored at the end of the garden. The lake is freshwater and extremely clean for swimming.

Local Area: Children can cycle around the little lanes (under supervision), find the little playground for smaller children, or be out on the water all day rowing, swimming, canoeing, sailing etc. Loosdrecht is famous for its watersporting facilities. It’s the ideal place for young/old to learn to sail or windsurf! There are also lovely woods and forests nearby for walkers and cyclists. Cosy local waterside restaurants within walking distance.

The chalet has a warm welcoming feel to it and is ideal for a family with small children or for a couple wanting a taste of the country. The neighbours are quiet, and although there is life nearby (bars/cafes), it feels secluded and private.

On arrival, a bottle of red wine, Dutch cheese and food basics will be waiting for you. We can also stock the house with shopping on request.

Directions: From Schiphol take the A1 to Amsterdam. After S110 on the ringroad, join A2 in direction of Utrecht. Take exit N210 to Hilversum. Follow signs to Loosdrecht. Drive through the village until you reach number 113, Smalland Chalet park. Chalet is lane B, number 2.
